What Type of Motivation Are You?
It is astonishing to find out what motivates you on a daily basis. But more astonishing to find what makes us this way. The more we learn about how our minds work, the easier our habits can be altered to fit the goal we plan to achieve.
Below are 3 types of motivations with a description of each. Feel free to take a look at the diagram to share which one or two combinations best fit you!
Extrinsic – You are motivated by external possessions with a preference for recognition, awards and benefits. You tend to act on a goal based on your status.
Cons: You may feel inadequate when there is no reward or recognition
Intrinsic – You are motivated by internal values. You act on a goal that makes you feel joyous and fulfilled.
Cons: You may feel unworthy if you don’t achieve positive goals.
Addiction – You are motivated by feeling good.
Cons: The most destructive form of motivation.
