What is Personal Branding? – 01.13.2020

Personal Branding
What is Personal Branding?

Firstly, happy 2020 Millennial King!

I am incredibly grateful for 2019, another year and of course your visit to my blog post!

Now, I was exposed to personal branding about 2 years ago because I thought it was a huge thing on Instagram with beauty gurus and influencers. I bought a virtual course on it and want to share 3 takeaways from that session.

1. Discover Who You Are

Ask yourself what you are most passionate about.

What purpose do you stand for? How do you keep yourself accountable for sharing that purpose to others?

What have you accomplished so far?
What tangible things have you created for yourself that may be meaningful to others?

2. Understand The Problem You Solve to Your Market

This section is where you will ask the most tough questions because you are putting yourself in the very shoes of your ideal customer.
You have to sit and map out the who, what, where is your ideal market questions. Think about how they would like for you to show up as someone they can invest in, in order to solve this specific issue.

Also know that this advice is not the kind that you must do years of trainings to complete. This can simply be a packaged product or service that others already come to you for.

You don’t have to know everything, you just have to be 3 or 4 steps ahead of your market to leave a positive impact in your customers journey.

3. Design Your Intention

The fun and exciting part!

How will you design the space to welcome your market? What kinds of colours do they like to see? Perhaps a little research on the meaning of colours would spark a theme idea!

Lastly, do not overthink your personal brand discovery. The point of personal branding is for your audience to see your growth. We all start somewhere and life is a journey that never gets “finished” for a lack of a better word.

I’ve blogged for 7 months now and have stumbled. Let’s stumble together, you will be so proud to have taken that leap despite your fears!

3 Essentials to Stay Motivated – 11.25.2019

3 Essentials to Stay Motivated

Hey Millennial King,

Ever thought of an awesome business idea that you want to implement that you haven’t got around to? Why is that? Well.. You probably are not aware yet because this question has been pressing on you for a while. Hence why you are here! Fire, go.

The truth to motivating yourself is to stay organized.

Here are my top 3 essentials to keep you organized, therefore, motivated!

*Disclaimer: I may receive a commission upon your purchase to any item below.  I have not purchased the listed products, however, own similar products.

1. 6-Shelf Hanging Dresser – Foldable Closet
2. Veesun Desk Organizer
3. A Productivity Planner

I personally notice how much I hold off on organizing the space around me. The more I procrastinate on it, the longer my goals take to get achieved. Us, Millennials live in what I call the “Golden Age/Information Age”, where ALL the information you ever need is right at your finger tips.

The best part of all this information is that it is free, yes – FREE!!

“Change Your Thinking” – Medium.com

Although the words “change your thinking” sound simply put, we understand that managing thoughts are more difficult than we think. However, allowing yourself to remain open minded during this shift in your mind, could be the best gift you give to yourself. Be patient with yourself as you progress.

Make your goal so simple that it’s nearly impossible to achieve.

Lastly, have fun with this! Only you know yourself best. Challenge yourself and continue to build on your smaller goals. Eventually your large goals will simplify!

Below are 3 types of motivations with a description of each. Feel free to take a look at the diagram to share which one or two combinations best fit you!

Extrinsic – You are motivated by external possessions with a preference for recognition, awards and benefits. You tend to act on a goal based on your status.

Cons: You may feel inadequate when there is no reward or recognition

Intrinsic – You are motivated by internal values. You act on a goal that makes you feel joyous and fulfilled.

Cons: You may feel unworthy if you don’t achieve positive goals.

Addiction – You are motivated by feeling good.

Cons: The most destructive form of motivation.

How to Monitor Self Sabotage – 10.29.2019

How to Monitor Self Sabotage

You are here because you have at some point had a difficult time accomplishing your goals. Not only were you having a difficult time conquering but you realize that you are the problem.

Here are the 3 most common signs of self sabotage

  1. You hold onto self limiting beliefs – What are your immediate thoughts when creating a new goal? Do you believe in your obstacles more than you believe in yourself?
  2. You believe that life is happening to you, instead of happen through you – It is second nature for you to fall victim in your discussions with people and yourself.
  3. You are in agreeance with your negative self talk. Even though you know these thoughts don’t empower, you have formed a belief around your worries.
  4. There isn’t really a fourth point here but in order to be proactive, let’s dive into how you can better manage your self sabotage. When you have a couple minutes, sit down. Pick up a notebook or journal and jot down three obstacles that hinder you from achieving your goal.

Now that you have clarity to what it is holding you back, allow yourself a moment to understand that you are accountable for breathing life into those obstacles. Take this notebook as a tool to combat your months, weeks or even years of self sabotage. Here are exercises that you can begin to practice.

  • Monitor your thoughts;
  • Pay more attention to the thought patterns that make you feel good,
  • Act on what brings you joy.

5 Essentials to Increase Your Gratitude/Appreciation – 10.07.2019

5 Essentials to Increase Your Gratitude – Appreciation

First off, thank you for stopping by!

In case you haven’t noticed, this is a blog post I created last month. I decided to bring it back to life because we tend to stress a lot during this winter season. Not just because of the dry weather and climate changes but we also stress during the holidays! Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, this time of the year impacts you in one way or another. So let’s get started with Appreciation!

A perfect way to prepare for all that the season brings is to remember

The Power of Appreciation!

Genuine appreciations can create an organizational culture in which
appreciation and positive energy are the norms rather than the
exceptions, a culture in which people feel valued for their work and help those around them to do the same.

Leading with appreciation creates a positive culture! Here are two points of our favorite ways of “living” our belief in a positive, appreciative culture. Some of them will seem challenging as you imagine going into the busiest season of year. So perhaps establish a systems that supports you to achieve your personal goals for the holidays and New Year.

Here are the 5 essentials that you can purchase and give yourself the time investment that you deserve:

1. Guided Meditation for Calm Free App!
Recommended if you struggle with “me time” in the world of work-life balance.

2. White Sage
Recommended for negative energy clearing.

3. White Barn 3 Wick Candle
Recommended for spiritual awareness, peace and purity. Also recommended in cool colors such as purples and blues as you visualize your future self.

4. White Wood Cool Mist Air Humidifier
Recommended for adding moisture in the air, especially during winter months.

5. 7-Piece Yoga Package
Highly recommended as there are tons of benefits to yoga. Yoga builds core strength for your body and unifies your mind, body and soul.

More Appreciation

Appreciate yourself
An appreciative environment must be driven from within us. When you
can appreciate yourself authentically, you will soon learn how to transfer that energy to appreciate others.  Remember to self high 5 regularly!

Appreciate people around you who are being appreciative
As a leader or manager, when you see one of your staff being
appreciative and spreading positive energy, appreciate them for doing so. It’s an opportunity to lead by example and reinforce positive behaviors
all at once!

Appreciate life
Enjoying life itself is a huge part of your life and you are in charge of it!
If you do invest in all of any of these items, please be sure to let me know via comment or email on how it has allowed you to become more appreciative.

Appreciate today.

Hanging on Through the Challenges

By Josh Hinds

One thing is for certain, when you go the extra mile there’s always someone, somewhere who takes notice. The challenge is that it may appear that no one sees the extra effort you’re putting in, and in turn there’s a tendency to give up in frustration – which unfortunately undoes any good will you’ve built up to that point.

Admittedly, it’s not easy to stand your ground and keep on piling on the value – especially when it seems that there’s not a living soul who is taking notice.

If you can distinguish yourself from the people who give up, and stick to it you’ll reap the rewards of those who give their best no matter what – and in turn achieve results which are available only to those who can hang on through the challenges.

Always remember that you’ve got greatness in you – and that someone (whether you choose to believe it or not) is always taking notice!

One helpful idea is to track your own daily successes along the way. Doing so will allow you to see first hand that you’re making a real difference, and that you’re contributing in a big way.

It’s perfectly acceptable that until others step in and do so – that you create your own source of validation. Tracking your daily accomplishments will allow you to do just that.

It’s your life, LIVE BIG!
